Apple are anticipated to announce the next release of their desktop operating system, macOS 11 (Big Sur), in the coming week. As with previous major releases, IT Services request you do not upgrade your University provided Apple Mac desktop or notebook to this version until we have concluded our testing to ensure compatibility with our systems. We anticipate being able to publish further information on upgrading your equipment to Big Sur soon after its release but only after we are comfortable with the interoperability with key services required for remote working and blended teaching.

If you have a project or external partners who require your device(s) to be upgraded to this release sooner, please contact our IT Service Desk.
