IT Services have been made aware that there is an issue with EndNote (versions 7.7.1 and 8) on Mac computers. This issue affects the Cite While You Write plugin for Word. Users can continue to use the EndNote software itself, but Cite While You Write in Word will not work.
You can find more details about this issue here: https://support.clarivate.com/Endnote/s/article/EndNote-Word-2016-Mac-version-16-Compatibility?language=en_US
If you’re a Mac user and you need to use Cite While You Write, you have two options: you can sign up for a beta release or you can downgrade your version of Word (which we do not recommend, as this may cause other issues). If you use a Mac computer that is managed by IT Services you will not be able to downgrade your version of Word and if you choose to downgrade on a non-IT Services computer you will need to source your own installer for a previous version. The best option therefore is to sign up for the beta release, but we will be unable to provide support for this option.
As soon as Thompson Reuters release a stable fix for this issue we will make it available.
UPDATE: 25 Jan 2018 - 4:38pm
