Posted: Fri 31 Jul 2015, 12:49pm.

One of our regular jobs in the summer months is to upgrade all the student PCs on the campus with a fresh installation of Windows and updated software. There are around 1,000 computers that need attention and it takes a team of people several weeks to complete the upgrade.

The table below shows how we're doing so far and we'll keep the details updated with the progress we're making.

The programs installed on student PCs are determined in the annual software review. We consult with Schools and Departments to agree which programs are needed for the next academic year and then go through the lengthy process of securing budgets and licencing all the necessary software so it can be installed ready for the start of term.
