Autolocking of staff PCs

Posted: Mon 20 Apr 2015, 2:47pm.

The change to set staff computers to lock automatically will be introduced to PCs in the Academic Registry from Monday 27 April.

The setting causes the screen to lock if a computer is inactive for more than ten minutes. Users remain logged in to their PCs and any programs that are running will continue to work in the background. Staff simply need to re-enter their password to unlock the screen.

The measure will improve the security of the University's systems and data and has already been rolled out to ITS and Student Recruitment Services.
