The Central Database, which is used by many systems including Sussex Direct and most Business Systems appears to have some data corruption issues. It should be considered at risk for now, and may have to be taken down at short notice in order to stop the spread of further corruption and fix the problem. Please make a note of data entries made for now in case it has to be done again.
We will provide further information as soon as we can.

The central database needs to be shut down to check and hopefully fix the data corruption. All services which use it will be affected. It is not known how long this will take; we will report back as soon as we have more accurate information.

The database remains offline while repairs to the data take place. We now hope to bring it back online by 1230. However, we are likely to need to take it down later in the day to complete the repair. Further information will be provided when we know more.

The database is back online, however Sussex Direct is not yet active - we are working on this. Business Systems should be running now.

Sussex Direct and the Central Datbase are back online. Please check your areas to ensure that they are functioning; there may be small loss of data which may need to be fixed manually.

The database repair is taking a long time. As this is something we very rarely have to do it is difficult to be accurate about times. It is possible that we will not be able to complete it today; if this is the case the central database will not be taken down to complete the job until tomorrow morning (Wednesday) at 8.00am. We will clarify this later today.

The database repair has completed. The final step will take place tomorrow morning (Wednesday) at 8.00am. The work will take up to half an hour during which time the database will be offline, affecting all associated services.

The Database has been restarted to complete the final phase of the fix following data corruption problems over the last few days. It remains at risk while we monitor it today to check that it is now running properly. Associated systems (Sussex Direct, Business Systems etc) should be back online.
