Since the summer term, there has been more progress in extending the wi-fi service across the campus.
The wi-fi capacity in a number of buildings on the central campus has been substantially increased:
and we have also completed the installation of wi-fi in more of the residences. All of these buildings now have wi-fi in addition to the wired connections in individual rooms:
Other residences are due to follow soon with work continuing to install wireless access points in flats and communal areas and strengthen the network infrastructure to handle more traffic.
These improvements were made possible by a £1.3million fund announced by the University in 2011.
