Weekend problems

We must apologise for the difficulties some users encountered with the IT services over the past weekend.The failure of a disk on one of the servers which connects users to the network resulted in some users being unable to use ResNet, wi-fi and cluster room PCs. Most services were restored by Sunday morning with any outstanding problems resolved when staff returned to work on Monday.

A second and unrelated storage failure caused student email, some administrative systems and Study Direct to be unavailable. This problem was also attended to by staff during the weekend with Study Direct and student email returned to service on Saturday evening.
