New Help Desk Advisors wanted

IT Services are again looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable postgraduate students to join the team on our IT Service Desk. The position involves giving face to face IT advice to students and staff. Applicants must be fully conversant with software on the IT Services desktop and have an in-depth knowledge of configuring computers to use the Sussex campus networks.

Most of your time would be spent helping users to configure and connect their own computers and mobile devices to use both the campus wired residential network and the wireless eduroam network. You would also be expected to provide support for other software provided by IT Services, eg Microsoft Office and email software.

Applicants would be expected to be able to commit to the role for a minimum of 12 months and, if successful, would initially be offered one 4 hour slot each week working alongside experienced Help Desk staff. The current rate of pay is £8.76 per hour.
