The campus link to the Internet should be considered at risk of failure as at 12.30pm on Tuesday 21 April as a consequence of a partial fault on the LeNSE-operated regional area network router serving campus.
It is expected that there will be a short disruption to Internet access to resolve a fault on this router which occurred during scheduled maintenance in the JANET network at risk period this morning. IT Services expect that this disruption will take place at an advertised time, and will update this notice when more information becomes available.
UPDATE: 23 Apr 2009 - 2:00pm
The campus link to the internet remains at risk of failure whilst LeNSE work on a plan to remedy the technical fault that arose during planned upgrade work on Tuesday. We expect that there will be short break in Internet access when LeNSE move to resolve the fault. ITS will issue another update when we hear more from LeNSE.
UPDATE: 6 May 2009 - 8:11am
Please note that it is likely that there will be two short periods
of disruption to internet access (of probably less than five minutes
each) between 7:00 and 9:00am on Tuesday 12 May.
This is due to engineers replacing the primary and secondary routing cards in the LeNSE operated regional area network router. IT Services regret any inconvenience that this may cause.
UPDATE: 11 May 2009 - 11:18am
ITS would like to remind users that there will be interruption to Internet access between 7.00 and 9.00am tomorrow (Tuesday 12 May) whilst contractors work on the LeNSE access router.
Maintenance on the LeNSE router was successfully completed at 0745. Resilience in the University's link to the Internet has been reinstated.
