This illustrates a book by Elizabeth Eiloart, a prolific fiction writer, journalist and suffragist. Many proofs for her books are in the Dalziel Archive. Another striking children’s novel by her is Ernie Elton, The Lazy Boy (1865), which has a compelling illustration of a cross-dressing boy.
