ITS provides the following telecommunications services:

  • Management of the University telecommunications infrastructure involving 3,785 telephone extensions
  • Mobile telephones
  • Management of University switchboards using 68 digital lines and handling approximately 1,200 operator enquiries per day
  • Management of the University Voicemail service
  • Call-logging and provision of detailed telephone accounts
  • Updating of Telephone Directory electronically
  • Daily changes to facility allowances to individual telephone extensions
  • Management of the University emergency telephone network.
  • Management of the telephony installations and rectification of faults on a daily basis
  • Continually monitoring the market place for new developments in telephony
