Telephones

The Telephony Modernisation project is introducing Teams Calling from September 2023, which will allow you to make and receive telephone calls using your existing Microsoft Teams software.

ITS provides the following telecommunications services:

  • Management of the University telecommunications infrastructure involving 3,785 telephone extensions
  • Mobile telephones
  • Management of University switchboards using 68 digital lines and handling approximately 1,200 operator enquiries per day
  • Management of the University Voicemail service
  • Call-logging and provision of detailed telephone accounts
  • Updating of Telephone Directory electronically
  • Daily changes to facility allowances to individual telephone extensions
  • Management of the University emergency telephone network.
  • Management of the telephony installations and rectification of faults on a daily basis
  • Continually monitoring the market place for new developments in telephony
