Essential Maintenance: Shibboleth login service, Monday 5 and Wednesday 7 August 2019

Description of work:
On Monday 5 August at 16:30 we will begin upgrading the Shibboleth login service. We expect this work to take one hour on Monday and one hour on Wednesday, but you should consider services to be at risk for the following 12 hours while our service providers update their own configurations.

Following the update there will be a change to the Shibboleth login screen - you will see a green picture of the Meeting House on the left and login boxes on the right.

What will you notice while this work is carried out?
You shouldn’t notice any interruptions while we carry out this work, but there may be short intervals when you won’t be able to log in to certain services - particularly those provided by the Library.

Why are we doing this work?
This is an essential upgrade to ensure the stability and security of the system.
