In Word, how do I double-space an entire document?

To change the line spacing for the whole document:

  1. Select the whole document by:
    • Pressing CTRL+A or
    • From the Home tab, Editing group; clicking the down arrow next to Select and choosing Select All 
  2. From the Home tab, Paragraph group, click on the Dialog Box Launcher icon - small icon bottom right hand corner of the group
  3. The Paragraph dialog box is displayed, check that the Indenting and Spacing tag has been selected
  4. Under Spacing, set 'Before' to be 0 pt, set 'After' to be 0 pt and 'Line spacing' to be Double
  5. Click on OK.
