How can I recover emails deleted in the last 28 days in OWA?

When you delete emails in Outlook Web App (OWA), they are put in your Deleted Items folder. They will stay in this folder until you decide to empty it (by right-clicking on the Deleted Items folder and choosing Empty Folder from the drop-down menu).

Even when you have emptied the Deleted Items folder, you still have a second chance to recover items that have been emptied in the last 28 days:

  1. Right-click on the Deleted Items folder in your list of folders, and click on Recover Deleted Items from the drop-down menu:

  2. In the pop-up window, browse for the email you want to recover and click on it to select it (see the image below).   Repeat for any other emails you want to recover.
  3. Click the Recover selected items icon at the top to reinstate the selected messages to their original folders:
