How can I configure my Sussex mailing list so that specific non-members can post to it?

If your list is configured in such a way that only list members can post to it (Private and Forum lists are automatically set up this way), you can also nominate the addresses of certain non-members whose postings will also be accepted.   Follow these steps:

  1. Open your list's Admin page.
  2. Select Privacy Options.
  3. Select Sender Filters.
  4. Scroll about half-way down the page that appears, until you find a text box labelled List of non-member addresses whose postings should be automatically accepted.
  5. Enter the email addresses of the people who are not list members but are to be permitted to post to the list.  Enter the addresses one per line in the box. When entering Sussex email addresses, be sure to enter each person's official Sussex email address.  If you do not do this then any email they send to the list may be rejected.
  6. When you've finished, click the 'Submit Your Changes' button button at the bottom of the page.

Note that you cannot nominate another mailing list as a group of people who can post to your list: you must enter their individual email addresses.
