Have you made a significant contribution to teaching, learning, assessment, student success or the wider student experience at Sussex?
The National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) and Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) are prestigious national awards that recognise individuals and teams who have had a demonstrable impact on students and higher education. Sussex has a strong track record of success, and we're keen to support the next generation of applicants.
You don't need to be planning an application this year to get involved. If you think NTFS or CATE might be something you'd like to explore in 2027, 2028 or beyond, please register your interest. We can help you understand the awards, keep you informed about future opportunities, and, where helpful, connect you with a mentor.
Key dates for prospective 2027 applicants:
- 5 November 2026, 3:45-4:45pm - Online introductory workshop led by Wendy Garnham and Katie Piatt for anyone interested in NTFS or CATE, now or in the future. Contact Katie Piatt for an invitation.
- 11 December 2026 - Draft application deadline.
- 18 December 2026 - Shortlisting outcomes and feedback.
- 12 February 2027 - Near-final applications due for internal review.
- 19 February 2027 - Final applicant submissions due.
- 26 February 2027 - Supporting statements prepared.
- 10 March 2027 - Final submissions sent to Advance HE.
