The University’s Digital team has received, processed and closed its 1000th request for work on the Sussex website.
The milestone comes less than six months after changes to the way we manage our website were introduced in February – meaning all externally facing website content is now managed centrally by the Digital team.
To celebrate the achievement, the team got together in Sussex House to enjoy a selection of homemade (and not so homemade) cakes.
Undergraduate Admissions Coordinator Heather Collins, who submitted the 1000th request, said:
"The team have been so helpful, even when something happened last minute, I was able to work out a way to meet the target with them - communication has been excellent too"
Jon Street, Senior Responsible Officer for the New Web Estate Project said:
“This is excellent news for the team but also the wider University. Making sure our website content is the best it can be is key for a number of reasons, but crucially it’s fundamental to our recruitment and recovery and rebuilding efforts. I want to thank the whole team for their commitment and hard work and for getting us to this important milestone.”
What’s coming next?
The New Web Estate Project is a major digital overhaul that is completely transforming the University’s online presence. In addition to introducing the new central governance system and a reskinned’website that visually reflects our new brand identity, the project team has also delivered numerous other new benefits to the website. These include rebranded and updated course pages, a new design for the Sussex homepage and new top-level navigation and drop-down global navigation. An audit of all our external content is also well underway.
The project team are now focused on working with our supplier to push forward the next stage of the project to design and deliver our new web platform.
