The University is pleased to announce that e-learning modules on Recognising and Responding to Antisemitism and Recognising and Responding to Islamophobia have been added to our EDI training provision on LearnUpon.
Antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred are forms of racism and religious discrimination which should have no place in our society or on campus. We hope that these modules will help colleagues to recognise how both forms of prejudice can manifest, and how to deal with situations in which they do.
David Ruebain, Pro Vice Chancellor (Culture, Equality and Inclusion), said: “Especially in a time of rising hatred and prejudice, understanding the particularities of different forms of racism is especially important. The modules guide participants to a thoughtful understanding which I hope can help maintain and build an inclusive community.”
These modules are not mandatory, although staff are encouraged to consider completing them. All staff will be enrolled on the modules to provide easy access. Each module should take around 35 minutes to complete.
