Food and drink on campus – 2026 summer opening times and locations

The end of term is here and we’re starting to introduce reduced opening hours across the Sussex Uni Food outlets.
We’re doing things slightly differently this year to help accommodate the summer school students joining us on campus:
The main changes for 2026
- To manage congestion at lunchtime, we’ll be closing Eat Central to everyone except summer school students between 11:30am-2:30pm.
- The Sussex Saver meal will relocate to the Arts Piazza Café.
- Starbucks will move from the Botanical Café to Eat Central and be available for everyone to use between 9:30am-11am and 2:30-4pm.
Arts Piazza Café will be the main hub for staff lunches over the summer. In addition to the hot Sussex Saver meal, we’ll be offering a great range of enhanced salads for only £2.50, deli grab and go options, sandwiches, fruit pots and bacon and sausage baps at breakfast time.
We would like to thank all colleagues in advance for helping us accommodate the visiting students this summer. Summer schools provide vital income for the University and are a key means of introducing potential undergraduates to Sussex, so it’s important we provide the best experience possible.
