Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the workplace
Mental health affects every one of us — whether through our own experiences, the people we care about, or the colleagues and students we support each day.
In busy working environments, it can sometimes be difficult to know what to say, how to respond, or where to signpost someone who may be struggling. Developing a better understanding of mental health is one simple but powerful way we can help create a more supportive, compassionate and inclusive workplace.
East Sussex College Group is offering a free, fully online Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace, giving adults the opportunity to build knowledge and confidence in an area that is increasingly important in both our professional and personal lives.
Why Mental Health First Aid and Advocacy?
Mental health first aid and advocacy are not just about policies or procedures — they are about people. They help us recognise when someone may need support, understand the barriers people can face, and contribute to a culture where open conversations about mental health are encouraged rather than avoided.
