Cooking tasty, healthy and cheap meals can sometimes feel like and impossible task. Whether you're mid-way through a busy week of lectures, balancing club and society commitments, or studying for assessments, it can be hard to find the time - or inspiration - to prepare a nice dinner.
That’s why we’ve launched a new initiative called The Cheap Eats Club: tips and recipes from our chefs, designed to help you eat well for less.
Every week we’ll be posting a new video on the Sussex Uni Food Instagram feed where we take you through how to make a delicious, nutritious meal. These aren’t complicated, ‘cheffy’ recipes – just simple, honest meals made well, with ingredients you can buy at ALDI.
How about a Persian chickpea stew, BBQ mac and cheese, or satay chicken skewers with rice and quick-pickled cucumber? These are just a few of the great recipes coming your way.
We’ll list out everything you’ll need to make them, from one off items to regular cupboard essentials. We’re even giving away free spice mix pots and recipe books to help you along.
Keep an eye out on Instagram for more info and drop a comment to let us know how you get on. Happy cooking!
