ITS improvement work - G Drive temporarily unavailable

Over the weekend of Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 of September, ITS colleagues will be replacing the existing G Drive Service.
What does this mean for me?
Work will begin on Friday 5 September at 5pm. We expect the service to be available again by 8am on Monday 8 September. The G Drive will not be accessible between these times. All other services will continue to work as normal.
If you use the G Drive, please log out and shut down your computer by 5pm on Friday 5 September. Please log in again after 8am on Monday 8 September. We recommend that colleagues avoid using their computers over this weekend.
What to expect:
- The G Drive will not be accessible between 5pm on Friday 5 September and 8am on Monday 8 September.
- We recommend saving any files you may need elsewhere before 5pm on Friday.
- Once the migration is finished, you’ll be able to access the drive as usual.
We’ll share a follow-up message once the service is back online. In the meantime, if you have urgent file access needs, please contact the IT Service Desk on extension 8090 or ITServiceDesk@sussex.ac.uk and we’ll do our best to assist you.
