Dear Postgraduate taught student,
As you may be aware, members of the University and College Union (UCU) are undertaking a marking and assessment boycott. This is part of national industrial action by UCU and you can find out about it, and view frequently asked questions, on the Student Hub’s Industrial action page.
The University anticipates that the boycott will conclude on 30 September and that, from this point, all marking and assessment and associated quality assurance processes will be completed and presented to examination boards where marks and awards will be confirmed.
In order to complete these activities to the highest standard and to maintain quality, we have made the decision to move the Postgraduate taught results date back by two weeks. Your results will now be available on Sussex Direct on Thursday 9 November, instead of the previously published date of Tuesday 24 October.
We have chosen to make this decision to help reduce any disruption to Postgraduate taught students’ results and to ensure that all students will receive their marks at the same time with no further delays, or disruption.
We recognise that this may be disappointing, and I want to thank you in advance for your understanding and patience.
Information, guidance and support
The Student Hub is your first place to look for information on education and student wellbeing matters, including a set of detailed Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) relating to the industrial action.
Your School office will be available on Thursday 9 November to answer any questions you may have about your results and provide advice and guidance on next steps should you require it.
You can access the Student Centre on any matter that may be affecting you as a student. You can find out more about the Student Centre on the Student Hub.
Graduation
Those students who have been successful with their results will be invited to attend Graduation after Thursday 9 November.
With best wishes,
Kate
