The world of work has and is changing dramatically. The introduction of ever-evolving technology, smart and engaging software, AI, and streamlined methodologies means we all need to keep our skills and knowledge up to date to be effective, efficient, and innovative in our roles. By prioritising our own continuing professional development and making the most of development opportunities available to us, we will be better equipped for the future.
Learning at Work Week
The Organisational Development team invites everyone to join in with a variety of development opportunities during an invigorating Learning at Work Week from 13 to 17 May. This is a fantastic chance for all Sussex staff to engage in a variety of different events and workshops. Seize this opportunity to explore the extensive learning and development resources available to you all year-round.
Managers - please encourage your team members to sign up for one or more of the events available during the week.
Development and Wellbeing Drop-in
Everyone is invited to come along to the Development and Wellbeing drop-in event at the Meeting House on Thursday 16 May, from 11am to 2pm, to get advice and information on how to access a range of development options and wellbeing support.
The University has a significant pot of apprenticeship funding for staff to undertake nationally-recognised qualifications at no cost to themselves, and there are over 600 different apprenticeships on offer. External training providers will be at the drop-in event to showcase commercial, fully funded courses, and evening classes available to staff.
This is an ideal opportunity for individuals and managers to explore career development options and gain useful advice to support ADR discussions in an informal setting.
