Training needs analysis

Read about the resources needed to complete an annual Training Needs Analysis.

Doctoral researchers complete a Training Needs Analysis with their supervisor at the start of each year.

By reflecting on their training needs researchers can identify areas for development and then target specific workshops and courses that focus on these areas.

The ESRC requires all funded students to complete this form and the DTC reports back to the ESRC on how well the training needs of its students are being met.

Researcher Development Workshops

When you have identified your training needs, look at the range of Researcher Development Workshops available to complete your doctorate and enhance your professional skills.


Advanced training

There is also a range of modules and advanced training available on the MSc Social Research Methods to develop your research skills.  Examples of course that have been offered in the past can be found here.
