Welcome lunch for new doctoral researchers – 2nd February (11.30 – 13.00)

We would like to invite all new researchers starting their doctorate in January or February 2017 to join us for a light lunch on Thursday 2nd February, from 11.30am - 1pm in Fulton 202.

This informal event will offer the chance for you to meet other new researchers starting at Sussex and to find out about the support available to you from key staff supporting the research community, including:

Researcher Development Coffee Morning: Wellbeing – 10th February (12.00 – 13.30) in The Barlow Room, Library Ground Floor

On Friday 10th February the Researcher Development Programme and Research Staff Office are hosting a coffee morning for doctoral researchers, postdoctoral researchers and university colleagues who are involved in supporting researchers. We will be joined by staff from the following professional services, who will be available to answer any questions you have:

Career planning for PhD researchers – 30th January (13.00 – 14.30)

This workshop run by the Careers and Employability Centre will look at how to develop a successful career as a postgraduate and plan your next career steps.

Outcomes:

  • Reflect on your career to date and where to go from here
  • Explore the range of career options open to you after your PhD
  • Identify and take away tailored information resources
  • Learn how to manage your career and take the next step
