Discovering Collections, Discovering Communities Conference 2016

The National Archives and Research Libraries UK have announced that registration is now open for this year’s Discovering Collections, Discovering Communities ConferenceCollections, connections, collaborations: From potential to impact.

The conference will be held at The Lowry, Pier 8, Salford Quays, Manchester, M50 3AZ on 10th - 12th October 2016.

This year’s conference will bring together more than 70 speakers to explore the varied and innovative ways in which archives, museums, libraries, and academia can help realise the potential of collections and translate this into social, cultural, and economic impact.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Baroness Neville-Rolfe DBE CMG (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills ,jointly with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport) and Minister for Intellectual Property [subject to Parliamentary business].
  • Nicola Wright (Director of LSE Library Services)
  • Professor Carenza Lewis (Professor for the Public Understanding of Research, University of Lincoln).
