RESOLVED - System Performance Issues - 23 November

UPDATE: 23 Nov 2022 - 1:18pm

We have identified a failed component which is causing performance issues across applications and services today.

If you need to use OneDrive, MS Teams or Box, these services won't be affected if you use a wired connection whilst on campus or access them from home without being on the VPN

If you are on campus using Eduroam or using the remote desktop via the VPN then you may see performance degradation.

IT Services are continuing proactive engagement with our support partner to resolve this issue as swiftly as possible.

Due to the nature of the fault the storage system will need to rebuild. We have requested our support partner to attend site today to allow for rebuild overnight to resolve the slowness on applications and services impacted.

UPDATE: 24th Nov 2022 

An engineer attended campus last night, as a result the failed disk was replaced, which enabled the storage to rebuild overnight. A number of checks have been made this morning on the systems and all reports coming back have shown positive results that performance has restored.

This has been confirmed by engagement with users this morning. We'd like to thank those affected for their patients while our supplier remedied the fault on behalf of ITS.
