Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sasha Roseneil, travelled to China and Hong Kong from the 15-22 June, to meet with partners and alumni and celebrate our global community
During the visit, Prof Roseneil attended a Graduation ceremony at Zhejiang Gongshang University, celebrating our partnership which demonstrates how international collaboration brings benefits not just to our students, but also the advancement of global knowledge and industry. The ceremony brought together the best of British and Chinese graduation customs, followed by a reception including tea and calligraphy ceremonies.
The visit also included receptions for alumni and offer-holders in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, with over 200 attendees welcoming the Vice-Chancellor alongside Professor Steven McGuire, Dean of the University of Sussex Business School, and Professor Ian Wakeman, Head of the School of Engineering and Informatics. Whilst in Beijing, the Sussex delegation also took the chance to host an appreciation conference for recruitment partners to thank them for their continued support.
At the University of Sussex we welcome students from over 100 countries annually, and we have 330 academic partners in 60 countries. We’re a truly global university and, during the coming year, our Vice-Chancellor will be continuing to make further international visits to celebrate our international community.
