These pages provide information for teachers and
other
professionals interested in using the
Socio-Emotional Profile Questionnaires
Instructions for the person who is supervising the session, including a
pre-assessment and post-assessment briefing for pupils, can be found here.
Each pupil will need a class list with a two-digit code number next to
each name (e.g., 01-36).
Pupils can complete both surveys individually or in groups (in an ICT
suite). After logging in to the survey system using the class code and
pupil password, the pupils will need to enter their own individual code
number (from the class list) and first name at the beginning of each
survey.
For the My Class survey, pupils will use the code numbers from the
class list to enter their peer nominations.
Note for pupils in Years 1 and 2
For the My Feelings survey, adult support will be required to log-in
and complete the surveys. For the My Class survey, adults will
need to obtain pupils' peer nominations and then complete the survey
online on behalf of each pupil (using code numbers from the class list
to enter the child's peer nominations). This may be done by the adult
working at the computer with each individual child, but alternatively,
adults can obtain all the nominations from the pupils in advance and
then complete the online survey for each pupil at a later point.
Note: All the responses from the online surveys are stored on a secure server at the University of Sussex, which is maintained -- and can only be accessed -- by Robin Banerjee (Professor of Developmental Psychology) and the Psychology Technical Services team. As only first names and code numbers are entered in the surveys, no children are personally identifiable on the platform from the information provided. As school staff can export data for their own purposes, it is their responsibility to comply with the principles and requirements of data protection legislation when processing personal data.
