Campus cafés to accept card payments
Cafés on campus will accept payments by debit and credit card from the start of September.
Card payment systems will be installed in the University’s catering outlets by Chartwells, the University’s new external partner for catering and conferences services.
Currently, SussexFood outlets can accept only cash payments.
The development, which should make it easier for staff, students and visitors to use cafés across campus, is one of a variety of systems improvements being planned by Chartwells. Others include:
- Making better use of electronic point-of-sale information and customer feedback to allow better understanding of café use and improve service to customers
- Better online information for customers
- Online ordering for catering at University events and meetings.
