Work on A27 Falmer footbridge will take three months

Drivers on the A27 may find that their journeys to campus take longer than usual from next week. Maintenance work is due to start on Monday (1 February) on a footbridge that connects the north and south sections of Falmer village. The access ramp from the bus stop on the westbound side of the A27 to the footbridge, and the bus stop itself, will be closed for three months while it is rebuilt. Highways England say lanes will be narrowed and a 50 mile-per-hour speed limit will be in place during the project. Overnight carriageway closures of the A27 between the two slip roads will be required during the removal of the current footbridge and the installation of a new one. School of Law, Politics & Sociology launches campus' first touchscreen kiosk

The School of Law, Politics and Sociology (LPS) has installed a freestanding interactive 46” touchscreen kiosk, in the Freeman foyer entrance, for use by students, academics and visitors. The touchscreen has a home page with areas for School and departmental information. Users can access staff details, live Twitter feeds, admissions videos and interactive brochures including information on student reps, mentors and the National Student Survey (NSS). This has enabled the School to share greater amounts of information with their students and visitors in a new, exciting and engaging way, providing a more connected, graphical, intuitive and memorable experience, to capture and keep their attention.
