VC to hold open drop-in sessions with staff

The new Vice-Chancellor, Adam Tickell, will hold the first of his monthly drop-in sessions for staff on Friday 7 October.

New VCIn an email to all staff on his first day in office, Adam said: “I will have regular ‘open office’ sessions for staff (and separately for students) to just turn up and talk to me about things that are on their mind.”

And in a video message for staff, Adam said: “I hope to meet you and listen to your concerns, listen to what is great here, and understand better the university that I’m proud to lead … I know that staff will have lots of ideas for me about how the university can operate effectively.”

The drop-in session on 7 October will be from 12.30-2.30pm, with slots of a maximum 15 minutes per person.

If you would like to talk with the Vice-Chancellor, just come to the 3rd floor of Sussex House; there is no need to book in advance. Staff will be able to meet Adam on a first-come, first-served basis.

Adam says: “We’ll let people know about future dates soon. We’re trialling the format to see how it works and we will review it as we go along.”
