Round 2 of the Sussex Social Science Impact Fund now open

The Sussex Social Science Impact Fund (SSSIF) is the largest of the funds available under the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) at the University of Sussex.

It provides funds of up to £20,000 (or £40,000 if cross-departmental) for University of Sussex social science impact activities. It supports diverse activities, including:

  • Activities that lead to new or deeper development of networks and partnerships with businesses, NGOs, policymakers and other non-academic organisations.

  • Development of new engagement methods, activities or impact strategies, e.g. proof of concept projects.

There will also be special consideration for the following:

  • Local business engagement (impact activities that involve local businesses, particularly in the digital economy.)
  • Co-production (co-producing knowledge with external research users)
  • Secondments and placements (working in a non-academic organisation, or hosting a non-academic placement at the University of Sussex)

Eligibility: Round 2 of the SSSIF is open to all social science researchers who are conducting research of excellent quality that aligns with the ESRC remit, though underlying research does not have to be funded by the ESRC.

Deadlines: Expressions of Interest are due by 7 March 2016 and final applications are due by 8 April 2016. Please get in touch as early as possible.

Further information: Please see the website or contact either Paul Nightingale or the ESRC IAA Project Manager (01273 678178, x8178) for more information.
