New cyclepath opens between Falmer and Woodingdean

A new path that makes local travel safer on foot and by bike has been formally opened.

The footpath between Falmer and Woodingdean has been widened and upgraded to create a 2.5-metre wide limestone path for both pedestrians and cyclists.

Environment minister Lord de Mauley declared the path officially open on a wet morning in Woodingdean on Wednesday (29 January).

Chris Wadey, Transport Manager for the University, said: “All investments in the local transport infrastructure are welcome, and we are fully supportive of this project, which gets cyclists off the busy Woodingdean road and makes it safer for them to travel to and from campus.”
