Major network update 23 December
IT Services will be carrying out a major software update to the University network on Monday 23 December.
The maintenance work includes essential updates to the software and settings of the equipment which handles network traffic on the campus.
The work is likely to affect anyone working on the campus at the time, with most disruption between 8am and 10am.
During this time, many computers will intermittently lose connections to networked services including file storage and internet access. There will also be a few short interruptions later in the day as other parts of the network are updated.
Although some effects are unavoidable, IT Services will be working to keep them to a minimum.
The maintenance has been scheduled for a relatively quiet period in the vacation and updates on progress, including details of areas where work has been completed, will be available on the ITS website during the day.
