New weekly drop-in by Santander

The University of Sussex is now part of the Santander Universities network, which brings a range of benefits to students and staff at Sussex including funding for scholarships, international mobility and entrepreneurial activities.

Santander Universities logoIn December 2011 the University signed an agreement with Santander Universities, worth £150,000 over three years.

With a focus on international exchange and the mobility of students and researchers within the network, Santander Universities is funding four scholarships, each of £5,000, to overseas students from the USA, China, Brazil, Chile and Mexico.

In addition, ten Santander Mobility Awards will support faculty and students taking part in academic exchanges, as well as participation in conferences and symposia.

The agreement also provides five Santander Junior Entrepreneurship Associate Bursaries a year of £2,000 each to final-year master’s and doctoral students who have shown promising entrepreneurial talent.

On top of this, Santander Universities staff are now visiting the Sussex campus for a weekly drop-in service to offer advice on financial services and managing money, work-experience opportunities and careers.

All Sussex students and staff also have access to preferential offers on financial products that are not necessarily available in a Santander branch. For more details, see the Santander website.

The drop-in service started on Wednesday (2 May). It will be available every Wednesday from 11am-1pm and will be based in the Library cafe area.
