CoastView - Cliff retreat
Cliff retreat is illustrated in many of the old photographs and more spectacular cases have been reported in the press (e.g Beachy Head, Dover or the moving of Belle Tout light house).
The INTERREG II funded BERM project (Beach Erosion in the Rives Manche) at the University of Sussex has quantified cliff erosion between the late 1870s and the late 1990s for the whole of the chalk cliffs of East Sussex.
