Improving the DIY Kit
This involved varying parameters of the cloud chamber to see if there were any improvements that could be made to the basic setup. I tested various elements including; the temperature gradient, the amount of alcohol used and the concentration of alcohol.
In most of the experiments, though the chamber did work, there was no vast improvement. The method that seemed to be able to continually reproduce results was the even distribution of the alcohol over the felted area.

Building a Display Chamber
After these experiments I designed and built the display chamber. It was necessary to consider safety and cost alongside usability and low maintenance.
The design was kept simple for ease of use and in order to keep costs down, I built the chamber and the housing unit myself.
