OBJECTIVES

The aim was to run a workshop for postgraduate students from selected centres in the UK and Europe working within the area of Human Centred Computing Technology (HCT). Such students would be working towards:

• developing frameworks for understanding how people interact with and communicate through technology;
  
• exploring individual differences in the use of and effects of this technology;
  
• applying this understanding to develop and support innovation.

The main objective of the workshop was to provide a forum within which the above ideas could be explored.
