Student applications for campus parking permits for the academic year 2023/24 will open on Monday 4 September 2023, with all previous existing permits expiring on 31 August 2023.
Students with exceptional circumstances can apply via forms available on the Transport website. Students can apply for full annual permits, part-time permits, or a permit for one term only.
Exceptional circumstances include:
- Students who are responsible for young children or other dependents, with select parking spaces reserved for carers before 10am
- PhD students who are also members of University staff, depending on working hours and employment status
- Students living on campus with families
- Students who live far enough from campus that a journey via public transport would take over 1.25 hours (1 hour and 15 minutes)
- Students with a disability or mobility issue, including a temporary mobility issue (e.g. an injury)
How to apply
Parking permit application forms will go live on Monday 4 September. Please complete and submit the appropriate form to either the Transport Office or the Parking Panel, as indicated on the form. Students with disabilities should contact Disability Support.
- Exceptional circumstances: Carer Scheme, PhD students, families living on campus, and Public Transport Accessibility
- Disability or mobility issue: contact Disability Support for a referral
Parking permit applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so please submit your application as promptly as possible.
Disabled students with a Blue Badge do not need to apply for a parking permit, and can park in standard and disabled bays using a Blue Badge without displaying a University parking permit. Please notify the Transport Office with your name and vehicle details if you plan to park on campus using a Blue Badge.
If your application is successful, you will be notified via e-mail how and when you can collect your permit.
Reviewing parking on campus
With the West Slope development and other major projects ongoing, we are closely monitoring and reviewing parking availability on campus, and will continue to manage the University transport strategy over the next few years. We encourage all campus users to use sustainable transport options wherever feasible including public transport, cycling, and car share.
