Part of the series: World Congress - Foucault: 40 years after
Dear colleagues,
As you are no doubt aware, 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of Michel Foucault’s death. As part of a World Congress program of global events, we are commemorating Foucault’s enduring influence with our own transdisciplinary one-day conference/celebration, “Foucault as Boundary Object”, scheduled to be held on 10th May 2024.
We invite contributions from across the Sussex Community that reflect our intellectual diversity and Foucault’s critical versatility. We have chosen as our framing device, the Boundary Object, a concept originating within Science & Technology Studies, to celebrate both the plasticity and coherence of Foucault’s work across disciplinary boundaries, theoretical traditions, and methodological approaches. Sussex, too, takes pride in its interdisciplinarity, making us the perfect hosts to celebrate this virtue.
The conference is open to researchers at all career stages and in any role at the University of Sussex. If you would like to present your work, please submit a 250-word abstract that includes your name, email address, and the department you are based in so we can ensure presenters are chosen from across the university. Send your submissions to the organising committee via Yari Lanci (y.lanci@sussex.ac.uk) by 29 March 2024
