Interlibrary loans

The Library provides an interlibrary loan service to obtain material, both journal articles and books, not held in the University. Although the Library holds a wide range of content, there may be items we do not have access to and interlibrary loan service can usually source these.
The interlibrary loan service sources content from both within the UK and worldwide in a timely manner. Journal articles supplied are on average delivered within 8 hours but can be available as quickly as within 4 hours! Wherever possible we will instantly fulfil book requests with an e-book to offer the best possible service.
We are constantly looking at ways we can improve the interlibrary loan service and have joined various initiatives to improve delivery times and increase the breadth of content available to us.
For further information about the Library’s interlibrary loan service or to place a request, please see our ‘Request an item from another library’ webpage: https://www.sussex.ac.uk/library/find/ilr
