University of Sussex Campus : Library Seminar Room/Online
Speaker: Hanna Eldarwish, Josh Francis, Dr Danny Garside

Join us for this researcher-led event where we will take you through 7 steps to reproducible research. This workshop is aimed at undergraduates & masters students from all disciplines who are interested in learning more about open and reproducible research, and how it can make their work easier and stronger. No prior skills or knowledge are needed.
Objectives
Learn what is reproducibility and why does it matter?
Gain a number of skills and resources to help us build reproducibility in our everyday workflows, and to make your work easier and more efficient.
Utilise reproducibility techniques in ways to manage your project when other priorities/modules take you away from it.
Reproducibility is important to the future of research, and is all about working collaboratively, and openly with others. In this workshop we will introduce concepts and tools that researchers are developing and using which aim to make their research more reproducible – so that others can examine their processes, and build on top of findings more easily.
Our 7 steps for reproducible research
- Planning to be organised
- Keeping your files tidy and organised
- Methodology and protocols
- Documentation and writing it down
- Testing and controls
- Automation

You'll come away from this workshop with useful tips and tools you can start using straight away to improve your research practices.
