Welcome to Fran and Iris who both joined the EVENTS team as Research Technicians in April.
Iris obtained her BSc in Neuroscience at Sussex. She is currently finishing her Masters in Neuroscience at Sussex and has now been accepted into the Sussex Neuroscience PhD which she will start in September. Iris also did the JRA with Claire Lancaster.
Fran obtained her BSc (Hons) in Forensic Investigative Psychology at University of Winchester with graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
At university, Fran undertook several paid and voluntary research placements, pending authorship in relation to work she carried out on first impressions research. Her first real involvement in the research world was thanks to the FRIENDs (First Real Interactions and Engagement in Naturalistic Designs) Lab run by Dr Liam Satchell.
Fran’s dissertation tested a new Police interviewing technique (Timeline Technique) against free recall to compare effectiveness especially regarding Autistic adults.
Fran and Iris’ current role of a Research technician involves working on analysing qualitative data as part of a brain MRI study.
