EPSRC Postdoctoral Pathway Fellowship Call

The University of Sussex is pleased to announce a call for Engineering, Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) Postdoctoral Pathway Fellowships.
Sussex is offering three six-month Fellowships to enable outstanding researchers to take their first steps towards an independent research career in Science and Engineering.
You can use the Fellowship to:
- undertake significant new research
- complete key publications resulting from your PhD
- develop research networks
- facilitate knowledge transfer or research impact activities.
Applicants eligible to apply:
- are proposing Fellowship projects that lie within the EPSRC remit. At Sussex, these projects will be hosted by the departments of:
- Engineering
- Informatics
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- must have received EPSRC studentship funding and their funded studentship must have ended no earlier than 30 June 2022
- must have submitted their PhD thesis before 1 October 2025, the start date of the fellowship
- must be able to start their 6-month fellowship on 1 October 2025 – no other start date is possible.
Funding:
The funding covers six months of postdoctoral salary at Grade 7.30-33 (starting £38,784 to £42,254) and up to £5,000 research and training expenses.

Interviews: 10-17 September 2025
Fellowship duration: 1 October 2025 - 31 March 2026
