Get involved with the Junior Research Associates (JRAs) Summer Research Projects

Our Junior Research Associates (JRAs) projects are underway! Check out the projects below and take part in their surveys and focus groups.
Emily Ball
The project aims to deepen our understanding of emetophobia, the intense fear of vomit/vomiting. We will investigate the relationship between the phobia and other areas of cognition/perception that are implicated (e.g., interceptive confusion, imagery, disgust). We will also be looking at agoraphobia in relation to emetophobia and these areas.

Focus Groups: Join our 60-90 minute thought-provoking conversation on: engagement, student connection, belonging mental health and substance use.
To sign up you must have consumed alcohol in the past 3 months and be and 18+ Sussex University Student
There is £10 for participation.
Wellbeing Survey: A study exploring the links between wellbeing, mental health, substance use, and academic outcomes in university students.

This online survey is about mental health, substance-use, and interoception (awareness of bodily signals, for example hunger). There is a fun activity involving drawing out what you feel! You need to be 18 years or older and have access to a desktop. As compensation, you enter a prize draw to win one of five £10 One4All gift cards!!
Beray Berkay
Want to contribute to Alzheimer’s research and get paid in the process? If you're 18–30 or over 60, fluent in English, and curious, we need you! Help us study memory and repetition by joining a short cognitive test study! 40 minutes, £10 gift voucher, and brain science fun.

Aasta Hamilton-Wright
This project is exploring what young people (aged 18-24.5) understand about the NHS cervical screening programme before they are invited to use the service. Each interview has taken between 10-15 minutes and can be done in person or on Zoom.
