Surely, we don’t need a day to be reminded to be kind. Kindness is something we can – and should – practice every day. But World Kindness Day, celebrated on 13 November, gives us a powerful opportunity to actively promote the transformative power of kindness and its ability to make a meaningful impact in every aspect of our everyday lives.
At the Sussex Centre for Research on Kindness, we will be celebrating the global day with series of uplifting and inclusive activities that invite our entire community to reflect, connect, and act with kindness.
What will be happening?
- Student Kindness Moments: Look out for pop-up kindness prompts around campus – small actions, big impact!
- Kindness Symposium: A special event for staff and external community members on 14 November, where we’ll explore the science, stories, and strategies embedding kindness in our everyday lives.
- Kind@Sussex Conversations: Informal chats and reflections on what kindness means to us as an institution and community, and how we can cultivate it more intentionally.
Whether you’re a kindness champion or just curious to learn more, there’s something for everyone.
