European International Business Academy Summer School 2024
Update: the EIBA Summer School Call for Applications has been extended until Tuesday 30 April, 2024.
The third edition of the European International Business Academy (EIBA) Summer School, hosted by the University of Sussex Business School, will run from Monday 22 July until Friday 26 July 2024. The central theme will focus on research methods and new approaches in international business for the governance of eco-systems’ innovation.
In addition to leading faculty from our School, international business and innovation faculty will join us to teach Summer School attendees – from Politecnico di Milano, Henley Business School, Trinity College Dublin, Adam Smith Business School (University of Glasgow), University of Sydney, Aston Business School, University of Surrey, University of Newcastle, Essex Business School, and the University of Birmingham.
For organisations like multinational enterprises (MNEs), which compete in global markets, innovation has long been recognised as essential not just to growth and success but fundamentally to survival. MNEs are not only the seedbed for many innovations through their Research and Development activities at home and abroad, but they also facilitate the diffusion of new innovations across national borders. The study of innovation dynamics in different organisations, including MNEs and Small and Medium Enterprises, and the collaboration with the eco-system they are embedded in, requires specific methodological approaches and a variety of data (i.e. patents, trademarks, firm-level microdata) to address new research questions.
Among the uniqueness of this year’s edition are the daily discourse and analysis of specific types of data and the most appropriate methods to address the most relevant questions in IB and Innovation studies. Programmatically, there will be two sessions dedicated to strategies for publishing in top IB journals with the Editors in Chief (EiC) of the International Business Review, Roger Strange, and the Multinational Business Review, Tazeeb Rajawni.
Funding support may be made available for students requiring financial assistance, and those in need are encouraged to specify this in their application form.
