CHASE AHRC studentship scheme (2020)

The University of Sussex is a member of the CHASE Doctoral Training Partnership, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Successful applicants will have their PhD tuition fees paid, and will receive a stipend to cover living expenses (currently £15,009 for 2019-20). They will also have access to further funds for research expenses. They will benefit from research and practical expertise available across all the CHASE institutions via existing research networks, and the twice yearly Encounters conference.

Eligibility

CHASE AHRC studentships are open to UK and EU students who meet the residency requirements set out in the RCUK Conditions of Research Council Training Grants

If you have already commenced doctoral study, you may still be eligible for an AHRC studentship funding providing that, at the start of the AHRC award, you will have at least 50% of your period of study remaining as of September 2020 when the studentship commences.

If you wish to apply for CHASE studentship you must first apply for a place on a PhD course at the University of Sussex. You will then be able to request a link to the CHASE application form.

Timetable

The timetable is as follows:

Friday January 13th 2020- Deadline to apply for a PhD place to study at Sussex

Friday January 24th 2020 - Deadline for completing the CHASE application form

Mid-February 2019: Interviews for candidates selected by the Schools

Mid-April 2019: Applicants informed of outcome.
